2010

This is my first post in 2010. Many say that the beginning of a new year is a complete change.
People party, play fireworks in order to haunt the evil spirits from the new year (altough many are not aware that this is the meaning behind all that noise).
People make resolutions, wish their family, friends and colleagues happy new year. But let's stop a little at the resolutions. For me, 2009 was a year consecrated to work and travels to conferences. I really liked it, since this gave me the opportunity to see whales in Vancouver, Canada, to see the new Acropolis Museum in Athens or to eat some tapas in Madrid. I also experienced the so-called shopping paradise in Dortmund and Munster, Germany thanks to a good friend, or admided the beautiful lake Garda in Italy.
In 2010, I would like to have more stability. I realised that being such a traveler, I don't have time to consolidate friendships in a more smaller community and in a well defined place. Also, I didn't have a lot of time to spend with my family. Therefore, in 2010 I will search for a better balance between work and family/friends.
Also, another resolution for me is to experience the real Paris. I think last year I consecrated too much time to the cinema, museums and restaurants in downtown. But there is the theatre, opera and other places I need to see more.
Also, I would like to better integrate the hungarian community in Paris this year. I just didn't have the time and energy to do it in 2009, but now it is high time.
2009 was a year of trasition from university to job. In a way, I am still a student but with bigger responsabilities. I also had lectures at the university, which was a really nice experience.
So these are my resolutions:
  • more stable life
  • more time for friends and family
  • experiencing the cultural Paris
  • become a stronger researcher with less, but higher value publications
  • good health with sports
I wish to All who are currently reading this line a happy new year!
